About
Personally —
My parents are 1st generation Americans; my Mom from Europe (Germany) and my Dad from Asia (China). They met while doing their PhDs at Berkeley.
I grew up mostly in Seattle and studied computer science at UCLA.
Post-university, I've been between New York, San Francisco, Seattle or Paris; but primarily New York. I am a non-partisan person, but, despite our many flaws, I am a proud American (with partial European upbringing).
Professionally —
I'm a former born-again Evan Spiegel disciple & started my first company at 13. The experience made me realize that retirement was simply never going to be in the cards for me.
During university, years of hounding Evan / Snap's recruiting team paid off when I got an internship in the Santa Monica headquarters. I returned full-time as an iOS engineer in the New York office, where I was lucky to work with many of the legendary Andrew Lin's diaspora, including the man himself.
Two years in, I took the chance to join a prototyping team for the AI/ML org at Apple, which had me between Seattle and the Bay Area. Steve Jobs keynotes are the reason I ever became interested in technology, so suffice it to say I was and am proud to have worn the Apple badge.
I then returned to New York to join Meta on their AI experiences team, where I spent a lot of time working with on AI devices.
I then co-founded Raycaster, a venture-backed AI company for radically speeding up commercial life science teams, based in New York City.
